In July 2024, Dr. Lyu Yue, the director of the laboratory, was invited to participate in the 2024 China Economic Annual Conference Summer Forum, hosted by the China Economic Association and organized by the School of Economics and Management at Xinjiang University. HeShe delivered a special lecture on "Digital Economy and China's High-level Opening."

Prominent attendees included Yang Rudai, a professor from Peking University and the secretary-general of the China Economic Association; Yao Yang, a distinguished professor at the National School of Development at Peking University and the president of the China Economic Association; Professor Yi Junjian from the National School of Development at Peking University; and Professor Chen Zhao from Fudan University.

From July 8 to 10, 2024, Dr. Lyu Yue, the dean of the Academy of Global Innovation and Governance at the University of International Business and Economics, was invited to attend the forum. The event gathered leaders and guests from domestic and international universities and research institutions, with experts from over 30 institutions, including the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University, Fudan University, Hunan University, Sun Yat-sen University, University of International Business and Economics, Xiamen University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Kunming University of Science and Technology, and Southwest University of Finance and Economics.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Yang Rudai, with welcoming remarks by Ma Wei, the party secretary of the School of Economics and Management at Xinjiang University, and a speech by Yao Yang. The conference featured four sub-forums on themes including "Financial Economics," "Institution and Political Economy," "Population Labor and Health Economics," and "Resource and Environmental Economics."

During the conference, Dr. Lyu Yue delivered a special lecture on "Digital Economy and China's High-level Opening," discussing the role of digital economy in promoting high-level openness in China's economy. She analyzed, from both theoretical and empirical perspectives, how digital economy facilitates trade and influences the global value chain, providing new pathways and ideas for achieving high-level openness in China.
