In August 2024, Professor Lyu Yue, director of the laboratory, was invited to participate in the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Tsinghua University Institute of Service Economy and Digital Governance and joined the roundtable discussion. The meeting was attended by Jiang Xiaojuan, Professor at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences University and former Deputy Secretary-General of the State Council; Li Fei, Member of the Party Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce; Peng Gang, Member of the Standing Committee and Vice President of Tsinghua University; Zhang Xiangchen, Deputy Director-General of the WTO; Long Guoqiang, Member of the Party Group and Vice Director of the State Council Development Research Center; and Zhao Zhongxiu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University of International Business and Economics.

On August 3, 2024, Professor Lyu Yue was invited to the Tsinghua University event and participated in the roundtable forum. The meeting, themed "WTO Reform and High-Level Opening Up," invited important leaders, experts, and scholars from various fields related to the WTO and opening up to discuss the topics.

Jiang Xiaojuan hosted the opening ceremony and invited speeches. Li Fei and Peng Gang delivered opening remarks at the meeting. Zhang Xiangchen attended the meeting and gave a keynote speech. Discussions also featured notable participants, including Yang Zhiming, President of the China Labor Society; Sun Shoushan, former Deputy Director of the National Press and Publication Administration; Chong Quan, President of the China WTO Research Association; Cheng Guoqiang, Distinguished Professor at Renmin University of China; Zhang Yuejiao, Professor at Tsinghua University Law School and former Judge/Chair of the WTO Appellate Body; and Hong Junjie, Vice President of Shandong University of Finance and Economics.

Yang Yongheng, Director of the Department of Humanities Construction at Tsinghua University, hosted the keynote speech segment. Long Guoqiang, Jiang Xiaojuan, Zhao Zhongxiu, and Gao Yuning, Vice Dean of the Public Management School at Tsinghua University, participated and delivered keynote addresses.

Professor Lyu Yue participated in the roundtable forum, sharing insights on China’s opening-up situation and prospects for high-level opening up. She emphasized the need for enhanced assessments to address pressures and challenges posed by the West regarding rules of origin impacting China’s intermediate goods trade, while also highlighting e-commerce and the digital economy as key areas for growth and new momentum for high-level opening up.
