The choice of digital transformation of New Energy Automobile Enterprises: A case study based on the transformation practice of BYD Group
Facing the rapid arrival of the digital era and the fierce competition of new energy automobile enterprises, BYD Group in the nearly 30 years of continuous deep cultivation of the automobile manufacturing industry on the basis of active attention to digital transformation. By grasping the new opportunities brought by industry digitization and digital industrialization, the company successfully realized the whole chain digitization layout from the smart supply chain upstream to the digital after-sales service downstream. Taking into account both internal and external transition costs and benefits, BYD flexibly uses both vertical integration and collaboration models to explore a path for the new Energy Vehicle Enterprise's digital transition. It is worth pondering, however, whether BYD's model of digital transformation is propagable? Is it applicable under the new development trend?
