In June 2024, Professor Lyu Yue was invited to the 906th International Economics and Empirical Industrial Organization Workshop organized by the School of Economics at Peking University, where she presented a lecture titled "Trade Friction and Global Supply Chain Transfer."

Using the enterprise-level global supplier-customer relationship dataset from the FactSet Revere database (2017-2019), Lyu Yue studied the impact of China-US trade friction on global supply chain transfers. She employed a difference-in-differences method and found that trade friction between China and the US leads American companies to reduce their suppliers from China, with profit and risk effects being potential underlying mechanisms. Additionally, she noted that "superstar" supply chain enterprises with higher R&D levels and more suppliers are relatively less affected by the trade friction. Finally, she observed a clear trend towards "localization" and "safety" of supply chains following the trade friction.
